Let Go and Learn From Your Experiences

I was extremely excited when Michael told me about a deal he’d made. We’d be working together on designing a wine label for an up-and-coming winery and this label would be sold around the country with our very own creation.

Little did we know that a few weeks down the road -when the concept was just about to come together and within the deadline- the client decides that he’s chosen  a painting to be in the same label we’ve been assigned.

Their explanation: “Good news, you don’t have to put work on the label.”

Well, it was good news for him because he wasn’t planning on sticking to the original contract of one website with e-comerce, a logo, and a label design. Now that he didn’t need a chunk, he wasn’t paying for it.

The worst part is that we’re not going to be able to point to a fancy wine bottle on a shelve at a gourmet store and brag: “That’s my artwork!” any time soon.

The picture above is one of the drafts I made. My first time working with the Wacom Tablet. A picture unfinished still, because getting fired from a project is kind of like a heartbreak  -you’ve got to give it some time.

One of these days I’ll put a nice background on it.

In life you have to learn go and learn from your experiences.

“Aun que el exito es lo que traciende, lo verdadera mente importante es todo aquello que hacemos para lograrlo.”

Paolo something… or something like that. I’m bad with names.
